Two Knights of the Maccabees Banners. Circa 1900. Hand painted fabric with metallic trim and fringe on metal hanging rods. The first inscribed ?Astra Castra / K.O.T.M." with an image of a tent. The second inscribed ?Numen Lumen / K.O.T.M." with an image of a globe. ?Astra Castra, Numen Lumen" is the order's motto in Latin: ?The stars my camp, the Deity my light." Significant surface dirt and staining throughout. Paint loss in areas. Good condition. Each unrolled approximately 37 x 27 x 1".
