Fantastic archive / scrapbook belonging to Ludlow Joseph Washburn. He attended the University of Illinois c. 1907-1910. The archive includes photographs of Washburn and his track team mates, a large poster of a college track event, photographs of college life with his friends, dance cards, social events, and much more. Also included is small poster of George Huff, who was the coach of the football team from 1895-1899 and baseball team from 1896-1919.

Huff was briefly a manager for the Boston Americans at the start of the 1907 season following the suicide of Chick Stahl. Cy Young started out as the player/manager, but after six games stepped down in favor of Huff. Huff managed only eight games, finishing with a 2-6 record, before resigning on May 1, 1907, and returning to his previous job. The Americans had a total of four managers in the 1907 season. The team was renamed as the Boston Red Sox in 1908. The poster of Huff looks to be when he a football coach, and measures 11" x 21 1/4". At he bottom it reads "Who Said Base Ball".
