VALL?E, Sylvain Charles, Le Comte (1773-1846). Group of Three Autograph Letters Signed. [V.p. ca. 1800s]. A total of 3 8vo and 1 4to pages. White or light green laid paper. Sizes range from approximately 13 ? x 8? to 8 x 5?. Some wear, occasional soiling, creases. Generally very good. Letters include: a letter addressed to Brigadier Lepin, in which Vall?e writes on behalf of Mme. Coteau in which he recommends her son for the Legion of Honor; another letter is an endorsement for a promotion of Sgt. Martin. Vall?e was a capable commander and administrator, eventually rising to the rank of Marshal of France.
