Vanishing Head/Decapitation Automaton. Spain: Zdenka, ca. 2006. With Reuge music box. When activated, the doll moves a fan in front of its face. When the fan is lowered, the figure's head has vanished. It reappears in the die on the table in front of the doll but a moment later, is back on the doll's body. A dove perched atop the nearby trellis of flowers rotates. Finely crafted with bisque head and custom-made clothes. Height 16 ?". In a custom-made plexiglass vitrine (somewhat scuffed). Very good.
