Publisher?s burgundy cloth over beveled boards, front board and spine decoratively stamped in black and gilt, rear board stamped in blind (recased with new endleaves, binding worn, soiled, spine toned, spine extremities reinforced, text foxed throughout). SECOND ENGLISH EDITION (this second edition is still rare, as the first English edition published by Chapman & Hall is virtually impossible to find).
