Victorian Era Miniature Lion Figurine With Real Fur. [American], late 19th century. Figural table-top sculpture crafted to resemble a male lion. Fabricated with a real hide exterior and a papier-mâché base, along with a curly mane w/ synthetic fibers, glass eyes, and faux whiskers. 15 x 7 x 4".
Condition
Matting present to the curlier mane fibers; losses and thinning to hair throughout; splits to exterior "shell" with visible stitching to undercarriage.
