Vintage Adjustable Dentist Chair by S. S. White. [Philadelphia, PA: S. S. White, ca. 19th - 20th centuries]. Leather chair with cast iron adjustable base with wheels, wooden armrests, with metal adjusting crank on side (possibly later). At some point, this chair was most likely modified to adjust with an electric motor (motor is now missing, but there is a small plaque on the right armrest "Installed by Kelso Burnett Electric Co. Chicago, Ill."). With later metal pieces ("N," "1," "3") affixed to armrests. With a later footrest supplied from a ladder ("The Safety Ladder S. Field Chicago Illinois"). Adjusting wheel no longer works, as a connecting belt is missing. Approximately 55 x 25 x 25". An uncommon vintage dental chair.
