In August of the same year R S Hadji listed it among the "13 Neglected Masterpieces of the Macabre." In addition to his poetry and supernatural fiction, Visiak was known as a chief authority on Milton, who appears here as an epigram: "Medusa with Gorgonian terror guards / The Ford."
