Marking 100 years since the death of Harry Houdini, Potter & Potter will present a landmark sale of Houdini memorabilia on October 31, 2026 at the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The sale brings to the public for the very first time 100 historic items from the collection of Kevin Connolly, many of which were personally owned by Houdini.

Red cloth gilt.  HOUDINI'S OWN COPY, with a gift inscription from the author on the flyleaf: "To one after my own heart, Harry Houdini, with love from his friend, Frank K. Vizetelly."

On the front pastedown is the bookplate of Beatrice Houdini, SIGNED by her. The half-title bears the rubber-stamp of "Edw. Saint / Business Manager / for / Mrs. Harry Houdini." Houdini's engraved bookplate is affixed to the facing page. 

A remarkable association item and the companion to a work sold by Potter & Potter in our Houdiniana & Magic Memorabilia auction on April 26, 2025: Vizetelly's A Desk-Book of 25,000 Words Frequently Mispronounced. 

Condition

Front hinge expertly repaired, spine a bit dull. Very good.
