Text a bit toned, a few marginal chips or tears in text, one map is mounted onto paper with glue mottling, frontispiece, and maps with inkstamp of the Forbes Library, perforated library stamp on title-page. Still, fine. SECOND EDITION. In 1774, Bogle led the first British mission to Tibet, and established relationships with British India. Manning was the only Brit to visit Lhasa prior to 1811. An indispensable source for the study of British-Tibetan relations.
