Spine sunned and chipped, some rubbing to boards, recased with later endleaves, endleaves and text somewhat toned and foxed, one folding plate worn (with several short marginal tears) at outer edge. Very good. FIRST EDITION. Six soldiers marched from Simla north to Le, capital of Ladak, then west to Sreenuggur, capital of Kashmir, and southeasterly via Chumba and Kanga back to Simla (a circuit of over 1,000 miles). Two of the six soldiers completed this trip - a most interesting and amazing journey for the time.
