[WARHOL, Andy, DALTON, David, et al., contributors]. The First Three Issues of "Aspen The Magazine in a Box." New York: Aspen Magazine, 1965-1966. Volume I, issues 1, 2, 3 of this avant garde magazine, all with inserts and contained in publisher's box. #1 is nearly complete, but lacks advertising magazine and make-up booklet; the other issues are complete. All issues with flexidisc records present.  Issue #3 is the famous Pop Art issue with all inserts designed by Warhol and Dalton; in addition it has the Aspen Magazine subscription form, the Vanguard Fold Music brochure, the Paraphernalia questionnaire, the Guild Musical Instruments sheet, and folding sheet of ads done by Fladell, Winston, Pennette. Founded by Phyllis Johnson in 1965, this "three-dimensional magazine" was an answer to the common, staple-bound magazines, and was an effort to expand what a magazine could be. The entire run lasted 10 issues, and was notorious for having an erratic publication schedule. Early issues of this magazine are highly prized.

Condition

Some general wear, scuffing, soiling. Generally very good.
