Goldberg, Virginia (American, 1914 _ 2011). Woman in Red with Hat. Circa 1940s. Oil on canvas by listed American artist Virginia Goldberg . She was a painter, illustrator, and member of The American Artists' Professional League. Appears in "Who Was Who In American Art." This image depicts an elegant and solemn woman. Slightly impressionistic, it is finely drawn and painted with an extremely pleasing palette. Note the warm skin tones and the skillful use of color and texture in the blouse, face and hat. Unframed. Dimensions are approximately 20 x 24 inches. Signed by Artist at bottom right. Very good, with wear at extreme edges only from prior framing.
