World Artist Management (WAM) Archive of International Performance Press Photographs (50). Circa 1960s. Archive of approximately 50 black-and-white press photographs issued by World Artist Management (WAM), Ontario, California, a mid-century agency specializing in motion picture, television, theatrical, and attraction bookings. Dating to the mid-20th century, primarily circa 1960s, the group features a wide range of staged publicity images depicting performers and acts, including chorus lines, musicians, acrobats, novelty acts, and studio portraits of dancers and models. Many photographs bear Japanese captions on the versos identifying performers or studios, reflecting WAM’s promotion of international—particularly Asian—acts for American entertainment venues. Images are largely studio-produced publicity stills, with occasional agency markings.  Most measure up to 5 x 7".

Condition

Condition varies, with some photographs exhibiting water damage, edge wear, creasing, and occasional tears, though the majority remain in presentable condition.
