London/Bury St. Edmunds: printed for W. Richardson; J. Rackham, 1794. 2 volumes. 4to. Second edition. 3 large folding maps (slight separation along fold line to map in Vol. II) of France depicting types of soil, climate, and navigation (one hand colored), full-page portrait engraving in Vol. II. Later half black leather over pebbled cloth boards, raised bands, compartments titled in gilt (hinges rubbed). FRESH INTERIOR. Goldsmiths? 15937. Recognized as the best authority for the overall condition of France on the eve of the revolution.
