In 1970, Roldan was arrested for allegedly attempting to set a Harlem tenement building on fire (the Young Lords were known to start fires to tenements to draw attention to poor sanitation). He was sent to Manhattan's ?The Tombs" prison and found dead by hanging ? suicide, according to official accounts, but murdered in the minds of supporters. Backed on board.
