BATTERS, Elmer (1919-1997). Extensive collection of photograph negatives and color transparencies. 187 negatives and transparencies in various sizes, in two binders. In addition, within this collection is a substantial grouping of contact prints that accompany the original photo negatives. Leg art and silk-stocking fetish photographer Batters started out publishing his photographs himself. As a foot-fetish pioneer starting in the 1950s, Batters helped make this formerly closeted field of sexual interest more acceptable. The German publisher Taschen has produced three books of his work, including?From the Tip of the Toes to the Top of the Hose?and?Legs That Dance to Elmer's Tune. Very good.
