These are unpaginated, and feature hundreds of black and white nudes which could be ordered by print or, for the photographer who wished to make his or her own prints, negatives. The back covers offer other Peter Gowland catalogs and services. The Los Angeles Times called Gowland the ?prince of pinups.? He and his wife Alice, whose autographs are present in this collection, started in glamour photography during WWII. Their business flourished based on the quality of shoots that convey the beauty of the female form. In addition to the 24 Gowland Girls catalogs present in this collection are Basic Glamour Photography, Glamour Collection, a set of twenty-four 2 ? x 2 ?? color negatives in strips of 4, and various promotional items including an unsigned vintage 8 x 10? photo. 32 items, all negatives counted as one.
