Illustrated with frontispiece on vol. 1 and three folding maps. Bound in ninteeenth-century half brown calf over marbled boards, burgundy and green gilt morocco spine labels, ruled in gilt, five raised bands, all edges marbled, plain blue endleaves. Bindings worn, spines sunned, text somewhat toned, occasionally foxed or thumbsoiled. Bookplates of Herbert Nash and Sir Geoffrey Clarke on front endleaves. Very good. FIRST EDITION OF THIS UNCOMMON TITLE.
