[BREMA BRASSES]. Lifetime Collection of Carl Brema & Son Brass Magic Props. Philadelphia and elsewhere, 1910s ? 50s. Collected by Raymond Goulet over the course of many decades, and including approximately 125 items. The broad array of the company's bench-made brass and metal pocket and parlor tricks includes all manner of Plug Box, Nickels to Dimes, coin droppers and gimmicks, Spirit Nuts, an unusual chrome card houlette, divination tricks, Ball and Tube (including the giant version), card loading gimmicks, Brema's Breakaway Fan (three different; the apparatus was patented by Carl Brema), the Convincing Rope Trick (with instructions). A few items may have been issued by other makers in the style of Brema, and also including two audio cassette recordings of Walter Gibson, an early associate and friend of the Bremas, and the inventor of the firm's most popular trick, Nickels to Dimes. Most if not all in good working condition and well kept, though not all checked/tested for completeness. An impressive and expansive collection of this well-regarded father-and-son team of precision-made magic props.
