Cannonball Vase. European, ca. 1880. Fine nickel-plated vase with elaborate finial and three-legged stand, which is shown empty by removing the lid. The top is replaced and when removed again, a black metal cannonball fills the interior of the spherical vessel entirely. The ball is solid and may be removed from the vase. Ball diameter 6 ?", height of vase 15". With some parts loose and the finish worn, and showing some evidence of prior repair. Includes double-shell cannonball, base, and lid.
