Catholic Discipline Band Poster. San Francisco, circa 1979-1980. Original silkscreen poster designed and printed by Chris D [Slash Magaxine / Flesh Eaters] featuring religious iconography with the tagline "They'll get into your pants and suck your soul". From an edition of approx. 50.
The band was started by Slash Magazine editor Claude Bessey aka Kickboy Face, future folk artist Phranc and Robert Lopez later to become El Vez. The band can be seen alongside other influential bands of the time, including the Alice Bag Band, Black Flag, Fear, Germs X, and Circle Jerks, in the 1980 Penelope Spheeris film documentary The Decline of Western Civilization (their only filmed performance). 12 x 18".
Condition
Spot stain to the lower right; pinholes to corners; minor edge wear. 1/2 inch loss to upper right margin.
