CATLETT, Elizabeth (American, 1915-2012). ?I am the Black woman.? [originally created in 1946, this linocut was printed in 1989]. Linocut in black and brown on cream wove paper. Signed and captioned by the artist on the lower margin, numbered ?6/20.? Sight:10 x 8?. Mounted and framed under plexiglass 13 x 11?. From the 1989 series, I Am the Black Woman (first appearing in the 1947 series, I Am the Negro Woman). Excellent condition. Not examined out of frame.
