CHANDLER WRITES TO HIS AGENT; THIS LETTER INCLUDES A PASSAGE ABOUT WORKING WITH ALFRED HITCHCOCK: ?... Hitchcock, who I thought didn?t like my work on Strangers on a Train, told a London reporter I know that he had ?made a great mistake in hiring Chandler. I should never have hired a real writer.? What he means is that nothing in one of his pictures must suggest that there is any talent but Hitchcock?s at work. I think he is the most conceited man I ever met.? Superb content.
