London: Henry Seile, 1659. 8vos. 2 parts bound in 1. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece and engraved title-page. 380; [203, sic]- 600, [2, errata] pp. 2 blanks at front and 3 blanks at rear. Contemporary full calf, rebacked with modern full dark brown calf, gilt, later endleaves. FIRST EDITION.
This rare title is a record of King Charles I's library and documents, as well as a history of the English Civil War. Sometimes this work is attributed to Peter Heylyn.
Condition
Boards and spine worn, lower corners chipped, some restoration to boards, later endleaves, blanks soiled - one of which has an ink inscription, text toned, occasionally soiled, foxed, occasionally chipped. Good.
