[CIRCUS]. Cooke's Royal Circus: Immense Change of Programme. Hull: Robert Brown, October 19 ca. 1840. One-color pictorial broadside advertising the change of program and ?Novelty of the Most Splendid Description!" of this historic circus at Dock Green, Hull. Featuring an engraving of Gulliver and the Lilliputians, with Gulliver as a towering figure in formal attire, standing with legs spread wide. Beneath and around his legs are much smaller figures, including soldiers and men on horseback. Notable attractions include ?Horsemanship Extraordinary!", ?Gulliver and the Lilliputans!", ?Spotted Pony, ?Prince'" described as sagacious and agile, the ?Modern Athlete" showcasing their gymnastic abilities, and a variety of others. Minor creasing, tearing, foxing, and toning. Very good. Dawes label to verso. 22 ? x 8 7/8".
