COCKBURN, Admiral Sir George (1772-1853). Autograph Letter Signed. Downs, 9 June, 1810. 2 8vo pages plus one address page on one bifolium leaf. Addressed: ?Messrs. Knight & Reed-?. Signed on p. 2, ?G. Cockburn Captain H M. Ship Implacable Downs-?. On plain white laid paper with watermark. Each page approximately 9 x 7?. Several horizontal and vertical creases, p. 3 / 4 with repair and restoration and two inkstamps. Very good. In this letter, the naval commander who would convey Napoleon to St. Helena in 1815 and would burn Washington, D. C. in 1814, is writing to biscuit bakers to send a gift to Admiral Campbell.
