Group of 21 Autograph Letters Signed by Distinguished French or European Doctors. [V.p., ca. 18th - 19th century]. 8vo sheets. Sizes range from approximately 12 ? x 8 ?? to 4 ? x 4 ??. Some general wear, creases, some toning, occasional soiling. Generally very good or better. Some authors of these letters include: Jean-Louis Alibert (1768-1837, physician to Louis XVIII), Dominique-Jean Larrey (1766-1842, a distinguished doctor who is considered to be the first modern military surgeon), Augustin Jacob Landr?-Beauvais (1772-1840), Franz Joseph Gall (1758-1828, pioneer in localizations of brain function, and founder of phrenology), ?tienne Pariset (1770-1847), Nicolas Jadelot (1738-1793), Antoine-Jacques-Louis Jourdan (1788-1848), Raphael Blanchard (1857-1919), Alfred Vulpian (1826-1887) and more.
