COLLINS, Stanley (1881 ? 1966). Stanley Collins? Magic Props and Case. Circa 1940s. Handsome leather suitcase with the initials ?SMC? stamped in black on the lid?s leather label. Includes the props used by Collins to present many of his performances. Among them are: a mechanical silk/ring pull, Spirit Slates (several different), two small but well-made silk flag sprays (well preserved, in cloth carrying case), imitation eggs for the Egg Bag, jumbo and giant playing cards including several examples with numbers, standard packs of cards, a folding metal display stand, a quantity of well-made sham pocket watches for production or manipulation, three silk throw-out ribbons, four billiard balls in a glass tube, and other props. Case 20 x 13 x 7?, with reinforced brass corners and purple lining. The case well-worn with splits at seams and a replacement handle made of rope, but the contents in generally good condition with expected wear from professional use. A very good representation of the material used professionally by this accomplished British society entertainer.
