[HOLOCAUST]. Concentration Camp Liberation Photos, Ephemera, Correspondence. Circa 1940s-1980s. Collection of photographs, original negatives, and several letters (signed by Miles Lerman) related to the holocaust and World War II from the collection of U.S. Soldier Joseph H. Kay. Includes: Four original film negatives (2 ¼ x 3 ½ ") showing emaciated corpses at the Nordhausen concentration camp. -- Small photo album containing 40 photographs of WW2 ground operations around Germany and the liberation of Mittelbau-Dora in Nordhausen (a subcamp of Buchenwald). Including images of soldiers, buildings, corpses, plane crashes, and more. With one image labeled verso "Leipzig - Germany / day after V-E Day" [Victory Day], and several photos stamped verso "Passed by Army Examiner US 108 45 / Not for Publication". Some duplicate images, album not completely full. -- Several letters (ca. 1981) regarding the International Liberators Conference signed by Miles Lerman, holocaust survivor and founding member of the United States Holocaust Museum, on United States Holocaust Memorial letterhead. -- A postcard and note addressed to Joseph H. Kay, A.P.O. 230 US Army postmarked Dec 16, 1944.
