COPPERFIELD, David (b. 1956). Honus Wagner T206 Baseball Card Reproduction. A reprint of the famous and rare "mona lisa" of baseball cards featuring Wagner's portrait, printed as a dummy for possible use on David Copperfield's 1993 television special.
The final broadcast featured "Torn Asunder," an effect wherein Copperfield tore to pieces what was, at the time, the most valuable baseball card ever sold. With the then-new owner Wayne Gretzky at his side, the $1 million+ card was ripped to pieces, and then visibly restored.
This example is a reproduction card produced as a backup and was not screen-used; it was one of the few "spares" available for the production, if needed. 2 3/4 x 1 1/2".
