DANIELEWSKI, Mark Z. (b. 1966). Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves by Zampanò with an introduction and notes by Johnny Truant. New York: Pantheon Books, [2000]. 709 pp. Publisher's pictorial boards, publisher's unclipped ("$40.00") dust jacket. FIRST EDITION, HARDCOVER ISSUE, SIGNED BY DANIELEWSKI (with his characteristic "Z" on the first blank). This novel within a novel (this states "2nd Edition" on the title-page, but this is the correct first edition, first printing, as stated on the copyright page) is "narrated" by Johnny Truant, who has printed the text of the central portion of this novel by Zampanò. This postmodern horror novel was a critical and commercial success, with sections of print laid-out in unusual ways, forcing the reader to rotate the book around during reading.
