[DAWES, Edwin]. Metal Printing Plates for ?A Rich Cabinet of Curiosities." [England, ca. 1970-1990s]. Approximately 100 metal plates affixed to woodblocks, either etched or engraved. Subjects include Houdini in the Water Torture Cell, graphics from playbills and books featuring Professor Anderson, De Vere, and other classical magicians, dealers, ventriloquists, and the like. Sizes generally 3 x 4". With usual wear from use. Dawes' column appeared in The Magic Circular from 1972-2020. These plates represent the last of the blocks used in the column prior to its being published digitally.
