Full contemporary red straight-grain morocco gilt, ?F.M.? initials gilt-stamped on upper covers, edges gilt, EACH VOLUME CONCEALING A FORE-EDGE PAINTING depicting characters from Alice in Wonderland including Alice, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, and the Queen of Hearts (joints and corners a bit rubbed, vol. 3 chipped at head, front joint touched up).
