Small archive including documents, a diploma and various licenses, a manuscript ledger book, a blueprint, and two photographs, belonging to John Posuch, a funeral home director operating in Chicago in the early to mid-20th century. Lot includes:

Envelope of approximately 54 photostat coroner's reports, some with ink signature of City of Chicago Registrar of Vital Statistics, or other officials, providing cause and date of death, birthplace, and other vital information. Circa 1930s.

A ledger with detailed manuscript funeral expenses for about 100 people, accompanied by occasional receipts and ephemera from cemeteries, casket companies, florists, prayer cards, etc. Circa 1930s-50s.

Posuch operated in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. Invoices list his address as 1010 W. 18th St. Coroner's reports and Posuch's records within his ledger suggest he mainly served Chicago's immigrant Czech and Eastern European population.
