This diverse sale - made up of fine, vintage, and vernacular photographs - will focus closely on the snapshot. Once considered mere "fabrics of yesteryear," these fleeting images have been recently reclaimed by the collecting community, and appreciated for their candid, historical, and visual depth. But all genres of photographs will be represented, with featured lots to include space and NASA material, sideshow cabinet cards, fine art photos, and vernacular works of all types. This sale was co-curated by Eric Robbins and Greg Rivera.

Group of 5 U.S. Navy / Air Force Atlas Missile Launch Photographs. Cape Canaveral, 1962. Original black-and-white photographs documenting early Atlas missile launches and related personnel at Cape Canaveral, Florida, dated 1962. The lot includes dramatic launch sequences—daytime and nighttime exposures capturing ignition, ascent, and long-exposure trajectory arcs over water—as well as a group portrait of launch crew posed on the reinforced concrete blockhouse structure. Versos include typed and stamped press information, including “UNCLASSIFIED” markings and official U.S. Navy photograph designations, with one detailed caption identifying the Atlas intercontinental ballistic missile test at Patrick Air Force Base (12-13-62) conducted by Convair-Astronautics, Division of General Dynamics, describing remote-controlled launch operations from the blockhouse. Additional date notations include 7-19-62. A strong Cold War-era aerospace documentation group combining technical, press, and vernacular elements.

Approximately 8 x 10".
