Apollo Program Television Screen Photographs. 1962. Group of black-and-white photographs capturing early U.S. space program imagery as seen on a television screen, each dated “FEB 62” in the margins. The images document sequential moments of a rocket launch and ascent, including ignition, liftoff, and mid-flight, alongside broadcast frames showing an astronaut and program-related graphics. The distinctive curvature of the television screen, visible scan lines, and high-contrast glow emphasize the immediacy of early 1960s broadcast technology and the act of recording history secondhand through the domestic screen. Included with the group is a larger, square-format photograph from a related but separate set, depicting a broadcast image with the caption “ASTRONAUT ALDRIN REENTERING LM,” suggesting later Apollo-era footage incorporated into the grouping. Largest approximately 4 x 4".
