This diverse sale - made up of fine, vintage, and vernacular photographs - will focus closely on the snapshot. Once considered mere "fabrics of yesteryear," these fleeting images have been recently reclaimed by the collecting community, and appreciated for their candid, historical, and visual depth. But all genres of photographs will be represented, with featured lots to include space and NASA material, sideshow cabinet cards, fine art photos, and vernacular works of all types.

U.S. Air Force Atlantic Missile Range Photo Archive, 26 Images. Late 1950s–early 1960s. Silver gelatin prints. Archive of twenty-six official United States Air Force photographs, including identified portrait of Capt. Donald M. Davis dated Sept. 4, 1958; formal group portrait of uniformed Air Force personnel; portrait of a senior officer in dress uniform; and a series of documentary images related to the Atlantic Missile Range and early missile testing program. One image shows a printed map of the Atlantic Missile Range with stations extending from Cape Canaveral through the Caribbean to Ascension Island; verso stamp on another reads “Official U.S. Air Force Photo, MATS Photo Lab, Air Force Missile Test Center, Patrick AFB, Florida,” dated 1960. Additional images depict Boy Scouts posed with and seated atop a missile under assembly or display, likely part of a public or educational demonstration tied to the missile program. A cohesive group illustrating personnel, infrastructure, and public-facing aspects of the early U.S. Air Force missile and space-era development at Cape Canaveral and the Atlantic Missile Range.Various sizes, approximately 5 x 7" and similar.

Condition

Versos largely blank or with official stamps; some light wear, handling marks, and minor discoloration.
