Condition

Light rubbing, soiling to binding, minor occasional soiling in text; jacket lightly edgeworn with several short marginal tears, marginal creasing, some soiling. Near fine. FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING ("A-3.64[H]") OF THIS POSTHUMOUSLY PUBLISHED MEMOIR, INSCRIBED BY HEMINGWAY'S SON, JACK, ON THE HALF-TITLE: "For John Russell with best wishes from "Mr. Bumbie" a true character in their books. Best Always Jack Hemingway Oct 1988". Jack Hemingway (1923-2000) was a conservationist, and had the nickname "Bumbie" or "Bumby" as a child - Ernest writes about him in this title.
