HEMINGWAY, Ernest (1899-1961). In Our Time. New York: Boni & Liveright, 1925 [actually 1927]. 8vo. [215] pp. Publisher's full black cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt, in the rare publisher's unclipped ("$2.00" price is marked-through in penci) dust jacket, with "2nd Edition" on spine.

Condition

Minor occasional soiling on endleaves and in text, bookseller's ticket on rp.; jacket toned, lightly edgeworn, some faint scuffing on spine, some soiling on rear jacket panel. Fine. Housed in red cloth chemise and slipcase. FIRST EDITION, SECOND PRINTING IN THE CORRECT SECOND PRINTING JACKET. This printing was issued in a notoriously small number (around 500 copies), thus making this edition quite rare - especially so in the scarce dust jacket. This title was Hemingway's first published book in the U. S. After the first printing was issued, Hemingway had a dispute with Boni & Liveright, and left them for Charles Scribner's Sons in 1926. Boni & Liveright still issued this second printing two years after the first.
