HERRMANN, Alexander (1844 - 1896). Portrait and Autograph Display. Circa 1890. Handsome half-length image of the famously mephistophelean magician in sepia tone, framed and matted above a printed autograph. 10 3/4 x 8 3/4".

Inked notes to the verso state that the portrait was once owned by Adelaide Herrmann, "when she lived at the old Arlington Hotel in New York." It was then passed to magician John Lippy, and then Clint Reidel.
