Marking 100 years since the death of Harry Houdini, Potter & Potter will present a landmark sale of Houdini memorabilia on October 31, 2026 at the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The sale brings to the public for the very first time 100 historic items from the collection of Kevin Connolly, many of which were personally owned by Houdini.

HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Houdini Grand Magical Revue Handbill. Dover, UK, 1914. Letterpress printed handbill for the tour in which Houdini performed a magic show (as opposed to escapes) for half of his week-long run. The Thursday - Saturday shows at the Empire Theatre, Nottingham, included his presentation of de Kolta's Expanding Die, Good-Bye Winter (a Charles Morritt effect), the Crystal Casket as made popular by Robert-Houdin, and other tricks. The Water Torture Cell escape and Needle Trick were featured earlier in the week. Framed and matted, 14 x 7 1/4". 

Houdini modestly bills himself as the "Greatest Magician that History chronicles..." on this bill. Even so, the "Grand Magical Revue" was short-lived, and he presented it for only a handful of shows. Houdini returned to his regular vaudeville turn featuring challenge escapes and a dash of magic not long thereafter, making any surviving memorabilia related to the "Revue" production genuinely scarce.
