HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Houdini The World Famous Jail-Breaker and Handcuff King! [Leeds], 1902. Bright two-color letterpress broadside advertising Houdini's appearance at the Varieties theater of Leeds, with text stating, "Do not confuse Houdini with any other so-called Handcuff King. He is the originator of this act. All others are very poor imitators." The copy goes on to offer a reward to anyone who can provide a "regulation handcuff or leg iron" from which Houdini cannot escape. Framed and matted, 24 x 18".

This broadside dates to the early portion of Houdini's career, before his ascendance to worldwide fame.
