[KUBRICK, Stanley (1928-1999), subject]. KUBRICK, Christiane (b. 1932), et al. The Stanley Kubrick Archives. Köln: Taschen, [2005]. Oblong folio. Profusely illustrated, with sections divided by tabs at fore-edge. 544 pp. Publisher's half black cloth over red cloth boards, front board stamped in red and black, spine lettered in red. With publisher's CD and film segment from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY KUBRICK'S WIDOW AND CO-AUTHOR, CHRISTIANE, ON VERSO OF FFEP: "Dear Evelyn and Louis, Together you can carry this book. I can not! but I love it. Jan tells me you had a hand in this too. Many, many thanks. Love Christiane".
The recipients were Louis and Evelyn Blau; Louis was Kubrick's literary and film attorney. Louis was thanked by Christiane at the end of the book in the "Thanks" section. The "Jan" mentioned in the inscription is Jan Harlan (b. 1937), Christiane's brother and executive producer of several of Kubrick's films (including A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut, and more). From the personal collection of Louis Blau, literary and film attorney for Stanley Kubrick. An excellent association.
Spine sunned and rubbed, some rubbing to binding, several tabs creased and rubbed. Very good.
