Jenny Lind / Die Schwedische Nachtigall / Eine Biographische Skizze. Hamburg: B.G. Berendson, 1845. 8vo. With bookplate "Ex Libris / Dr. Weils / Anno Dom. 1902." 

Jenny Lind was a celebrated Swedish operatic soprano known as the "Swedish Nightingale." After experiencing great success in European opera during the 1840s, she retired from the stage at the age of 29. She was later famously recruited by P.T. Barnum for a widely publicized American tour from 1850 to 1852, and she generously donated her substantial earnings to charity.

Condition

Autograph and lithograph: very good.

Biography: Handling wear, surface dirt, creasing, staining, toning, marginal tears, and water stain to a few pages. Fair/good.
