An extensive collection of this important literary journal. 72 volumes (including 10 duplicates). 62 are individual issues comprising numbers 1-21, 28, 32, 36, 42, 43, 45-52, 56-81, 95, 96. Issues 1-28 are small 8vos, 32-81 are a larger stapled magazine format, and issues 95 and 96 are in a mass market paperback format. Evergreen Review introduced many readers to the important authors of the Beat Generation and the works of new writers and artists of the 1960s including Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Charles Bukowski, Richard Brautigan, Malcolm X and many others. Light wear and aging to some volumes but most remain in very good or better condition.
