Dunn. 343, [3, blank] pp. Publisher's full black cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt. FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING ("Published, August 1913" on copyright page and one blank leaf after text) PRESENTATION COPY, WARMLY INSCRIBED BY LONDON ON THE FIRST BLANK TO HIS BOOKPLATE ARTIST, HELLIER "JIM" DENSELOW: "Dear Jim:- Hope you don't get thirsty reading this. (don't you admire the expensive paper Century Co. used for front sheets? Sincerely yours, Jack London Sept. 9, 1913". London's famous wolf bookplate by Denselow is laid-in. 

This autobiographical novel deals with London's alcoholism, and his relationship with his friends, seen through the lens of drinking.

Condition

Spine very lightly toned and rubbed, minor rubbing to boards, endleaves and text very slightly toned. Fine. Housed in chemise and quarter red morocco slipcase.
