After a difficult childhood, she wrote her first novel, The Viper of Milan, in 1906; it became a best-seller. A prolific writer, she wrote over 150 books, many under the Bowen pseudonym (and other pseudonyms). Kecksies and Other Twilight Tales was her first collection of stories published in the United States. Kecksies collects 12 stories, including the six stories with typescripts included in this lot.
