MATANIA, Fortunino (Italian, 1881-1963). Untitled Original Drawing of a Large Scene of a Stage Production of A Midsummer's Night Dream. [N.p., ca. 20th century]. Charcoal on paper, heightened in white. Large image depicts a stage tableau of the forest scene near the end of the play, with Titania reclining with Bottom (with donkey head) surrounded by various actors as fairies, and the amateur acting troupe, one of which was Bottom the weaver. Signed at the lower left corner. Sight approximately 13 ? x 20 ?". Matted and framed under plexiglass. Frame size approximately 22 x 29". Some minor occasional soiling, scuffing. Fine. Not examined out of frame. A beautiful depiction of one of the most famous scenes from one of Shakespeare's greatest comedies. From the Collection of Louis A. Irmo. Measurements: 22 x 29 x 2".
