Miller Bros. & Arlington 101 Ranch Real Wild West Poster. Cincinnati & New York: Strobridge Litho., 1914. Magnificent full-color stone lithograph shows the many riders who participated in this artistic successor to (and rival of) the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show. Pictured among the cowboys and Native Americans are Theodore Roosevelt (holding an American flag), Joseph C. Miller (proprietor of the 101 Ranch show), and Chief Iron Tail, the model for the bust on the famous buffalo head nickel.
Framed and glazed, 44 x 33", sight 28 x 40". A RARE poster; we have traced no other examples at auction in the last 20 years.
The Miller brothers were encouraged to tour their wild west show across America and later through Europe by Pawnee Bill. Later in his career, after hanging up his spurs as the proprietor of his own giant touring production, an elderly Buffalo Bill Cody appeared on the Miller Bros. show. While pictured on this lithograph in his military uniform, Teddy Roosevelt did not appear in this production.
